The massive gears are helical cut and synchro-equipped for quiet performance and shift-on-the-fly capability. These gears are supported by needle bearing elements and are precision matched to strong 8620 shafts. The Atlas also features a unique twin stick design to deliver crisp, quiet operation. The Atlas has been tested and proven to handle over 900 ft./lbs. The Atlas gear ratio options have been designed to accommodate any type of combination. The 3.8:1 Gears "The Ultra Low" unit gives a definite advantage when replacing a Jeep New Process chain-driven transfer case by allowing an additional 6 inches of rear driveshaft length for a drastically improved rear drive angle.
