Looking for Dealer Cost Prices

The search for new car dealer invoice prices is now much easier for Canadians

Trying to find reliable, accurate and complete new car pricing, rebate and incentives data in Canada used to be a big challenge, but not anymore. With three strong competitors below you are bound to find the information you need to buy a new car with the confidence of knowing you didn’t pay too much.

Car Cost Canada.com
Car Cost Canada, was Canada's first online source for new car dealer invoice prices. They claim to have over 40,000 members. They allow you to build your new car and their report includes the MSRP and dealer invoice cost side by side for both the base price and all options, factory rebates and incentives. Since recently revising their pricing from a single report at $25.00 to 2 reports at $30.00 they clearly offer the best value if you need more than 1 report. Their other packages include 3 reports at $35.00 and 6 at $45.00. Ideal for those comparing many different vehicles or who may be purchasing more than 1 vehicle within the next few years. They also offer three rather innovative dealer pricing and buying services. “Rapid Response” is a free instant dealer quoting system (not available in all areas yet), “Take it or leave it” is a service that allows you to set the price (good everywhere) and their Premium pricing service engages one their so-called “Certified Negotiators” to find you the best deal. You have to give them credit for being innovative. They seem to have their data up to date as well. I checked a number of prices on newly introduced models and they were correct in every case.

Free Invoice Prices.com
Car Cost Canada finally has to deal with some competition. This site seems to be the most artistic looking of the three sites. Their pricing reports offer a similar level of detail to Car Cost Canada. No negotiating or buying service though. Although their name suggests that they offer free invoice prices, they charge a $39.95 subscription fee for three reports. Which is about $5.00 more than Car Cost Canada. How do they justify calling it Free invoice prices? They have devised a clever way of getting the dealer who ends up selling you a car to honour a coupon for $50.00, thus effectively refunding your money. At first, I assumed that the dealers were in on the deal, but it seems that if you work your best deal first, then drop the coupon on the dealer’s desk at the last minute, the dealer doesn't have a chance to build it into the price. Some dealers might feel a bit upset at this strategy, but how likely is it that they will let you walk away from the deal for $50.00. Not a chance!

Car Invoice Prices.ca
This is the new kid on the block. Faced with the two strong competitors above, they had to come up with a different spin. Not as complete as Car Cost Canada and not as creative as Free invoice prices, Car Invoice Prices.ca decided to keep it simple. As opposed to selling you a report that includes both the dealer invoice price and the factory rebates/incentives, they offer the incentives information as an upgrade, if applicable. For $9.95, they'll give you a similar pricing report to the other two groups above, except for the incentives. For an additional $5.95, you'll also get the incentives.

If you only need one report, Car Invoice Prices.ca is a better deal. But if you want more than one or want some assistance in the negotiations, Car Cost Canada is a step ahead. Getting your info from Free Invoice Prices.com is actually better than free, assuming that you do end up buying a new car in Canada. Then again, unless you seriously plan on buying a new car, why would you want to pay for this information at all?

Good luck
