The ShopFind pay per click search engine was founded in August 2000 to meet the growing demand for clean, relevant information on the internet. At the same time, we wanted to create a market-place where small and medium sized businesses could advertise their products or services without having to spend thousands of dollars each month.
In the summer of 2001 we decided to turn ShopFind into a pay per click search engine. This was done because of the changes in the internet economy. In order to keep our company profitable, we were forced to change our business model. We are very happy with the way our users have adjusted and how well we have adapted to the new business model.
Prior to the launch of the ShopFind program, several months were spent researching internet search space, developing prototypes, surveying potential users and customers. We still highly value customer feedback. We build our business on the needs of our users.
We have now developed partnerships with many large search providers and information websites. These partnerships enable our customers to reach a large portion of the internet audience. Our site receives the bulk of its traffic through our partners. Unlike many search engines, we limit our search partners to high-quality sites. Also unlike other programs, we do not our partners. Paying our partners a percentage of the clicks they generate increases fraud and bad clicks. Out of interest to our partners, we do not engage in this tactic.
This effort results in first-rate, consumer-minded searchers. All entries into our program have to pass a relevancy and decency auditing process to ensure the value of our search engine. Our mission is to provide only the best search results to our users.
