Grandma's tasty old style recipes
Hello recipe hunter :)
My name is Aaron Huston and along with my lovely wife Glenda have created our recipe eBook called Generation Gap.
As keen cooking people ourselves we wanted a great selection of old style recipes with variations and different tastes that brought back the memories of the way Grandma's place used to smell like when you walked in the door.
The name Generation Gap we thought was quite fitting as alot of Grandmothers end up taking their life long collections of recipes with them when they pass away. They get lost or chucked out somewhere along the line and as Grandmothers are so good at creating new mixes, we never get to try any. What a waste!
Glenda and I set about collecting just some of these lost ideas and variations. We typed out a list of family, friends and proceeded to gather names we thought might just have a few old recipes from when they were young.
The response we had was just down right amazing! Both Glenda and I were blown away by how many old treasures were forgotten about in the bottom of boxs, in pantries, some even in draws that had looked like they were put through the washing machine. Faded and ripped in places these little mixes hadn't been used in quite some time.
Recipes hand written in old style writing ment some of these variaitions like the milk desserts, biscuits, cookies and some dinner meals were acturally as old as they looked.
Early 1900 treats!.
Glenda and I then sorted through the collection of old style recipes and what a mission! The way people used to write letters with such flow and grace in the style at the time, made it hard for me to read. That and the way the pieces of paper had faded over the years had me stumped!
Glenda, on the other hand, had no problem what so ever. You could just imagine the cheek I received from her (chuckle)
After cooking up a storm and testing some of these great variations on the kids (chuckle) the whole family just loved them! That is how Generation Gap came about and why we would like you to share in these old tastes and experience the same joy out of good healthy food as we have.
