Creating Brand Awareness
Eileen Parzek (© 2003) writes: How to Create a Brand that Sticks
Most people, when they hear the word branding, think logos - but in fact, branding is really much more than that. A brand involves blending the image, purpose, and focus of your business, with your core marketing message, and coming up with something which will stick in the minds of people who encounter it. As a business or an independent professional, it is who you are and what you do, packaged neatly, clearly, and memorably. A logo is only a tangible representation that works to reinforce a brand.

Pop-Up Windows And Accessibility
Larisa Thomason writes: Pop-Up Windows And Accessibility
Like any useful tool, pop-up windows can be used for both good and evil purposes. For most visitors, a pop-up is either a helpful reminder or a minor annoyance that gets closed as soon as possible. But for visitors with disabilities who are using various assistive technologies, a pop-up window can be quite a barrier to accessibility.

Pop Up and Pop Under design samples
Pop Up and Pop Under Designs
Nothing can be more annoying than unwanted pop ups being spawned mercilessly on your PC. We are all in complete agreement there. However, when used responsibly and sparingly, pop ups, or less obtrusively - and more desireably, pop unders can be a very effective marketing tool. Eye catching, effective design is very important, and immediately identifies your ad as something more than a run of the mill annoyance.

Branding Basics
Les Goss writes: Branding Basics
Branding is the process by which you attempt to differentiate your business from your competitors. Just as a brand will allow your horse to be recognized among the rest of the herd, so too must your business’s brand set you apart. Although your name and logo are important features of your brand, there’s a lot more to it than that.

Web-Safe Fonts for Your Site
Mario Sanchez writes: Web-Safe Fonts for Your Site
Choosing the right typeface for your website copy is important, since it will affect the way your readers perceive your page (serious and formal, or friendly and casual). Aside from this, there are also important usability concerns. For example, some font types are more easily readable than others, and some are more widely available.
