AIM Standard provides a wide range of functionality to allow you to create realistic 3D movies using multiple 3D models on a background of your choice with user-defined 3D effects. The movies can then be used to generate movie frames or AIM publish files. The publish files can be used for complex web animations that are not possible with animated GIF files. Although the product is based on the advanced mathematics used in CAD/CAM systems, AIM is designed to be used by people of all ages and experience. Basic features include: text-based menu system for ease of use; import function for standard VRML (*.wrl) format 3D models; shaded or polygon model display; 3D rotate, pan, and zoom for models; user defined colors and images for models, textures, and backgrounds; and user defined light position. Additional features include: 3D model editing including fixing common surface problems on 3D models; ability to extract a sub-model from a model; application of multiple textures to models; 3D effects for 2D backgrounds; user definition of motions and orientations for 3D models; depth specification for elements of backgrounds and for points on animation paths; functions for merging up to 30 model motions into realistic 3D movies with user-defined frame counts; and table driven movie editing.
