So, being the information hound that I am, I went looking for all the answers. Sadly, I came up short. Most of the fashionable pregnancy books were either too playful (not giving me enough practical advice) or too medical (making me more anxious and nervous).
The general feeling out there that I realized is that pregnancy is a great effort and that pregnant women have big weight gains, wear very large shirts, feel rather uncomfortable and have little energy.
Not me! I was determined have LOTS of energy and to LOOK great while being pregnant. I planned to be FREE of aches and pains, dress sexy and to lose weight with ease after I delivered my baby.
And I did it.
Most New Moms are Full of Regret
Most pregnant women use pregnancy as an excuse to eat the house. They let themselves go, indulge in their cravings, and stop exercising.
There’s no disagreement that when you have a fat belly, feel nauseous and have pains and aches– the last thing you feel like doing is getting up off the sofa or thinking about what you’re about to munch on.
And that's why most pregnant women gain extra weight than they should, struggle to achieve weight loss afterwards, and often feel miserable as a result.
How often do you hear mothers moaning about the “last ” few pounds from pregnancy that they are unable to lose?
And how many females do you know that have turned to using restrictive diets and strict exercising routines (all the weight-loss “tricks”) to remove those UNWANTED pounds after pregnancy?
In fact, many women spend the rest of their lives feeling like they’ll never get their original body back– they don’t feel attractive or sexy.
Should've, could've, would've – don’t let this happen to you. Don’t be full of regret.
You CAN make your pregnancy a SUCCESS for both baby and you – it’s not as hard as you think (and it WILL set you up for afterwards!).
It just takes a little effort for HUGE gains.
Many Pregnancy Books Are All About BABY
Pregnancy books will just advise you to eat an extra 300 calories and to exercise – but that’s about it. Nowhere could I find WHAT I could/should do in any detail.
Even though I was an “expert” in non-pregnancy fitness, I had TONS to learn about “pregnancy + fitness”. I remember how I tried to find out HOW I should modify my general exercise routine for my pregnancy – what I needed to AVOID and what was safe to do.
Wow, you would think it would be easy to find simple tips like - don’t lift over your head or lie on your back after the first trimester, it wasn’t! I knew how to work out my abdominals, but I didn’t know EXACTLY what I could or couldn’t do now that I was pregnant
And it wasn’t just working out - I can remember having questions about hair dye and herbal teas that I couldn’t find straight answers to.
Being a mentor – I worked out that I would have to come up with my own pregnancy program to continue to being HEALTHY and SEXY whilst being a pregnant mama!
Other pregnant women would talk to me after I had my baby and only then that I realized – a LOT of them were asking all the questions that I had already the ANSWERS to.
