Welcome to my Pregnant Diet Guide.

My name is Michelle. In April 2002, I was newly pregnant and starting to become anxious about my changing body, both inside and out.

With fifteen years experience as a Health and Nutrition Coach, a Holistic Nutrition Masters Degree, a Certificate in Personal Training, and a Psychology Degree, I figured I had the whole pregnancy, body, food thing covered – BOY WAS I WRONG!

I had SO MANY Questions

• How much weight SHOULD I gain? Am I gaining too fast?
• How can I put on weight only in my tummy area? What kind of exercises can keep toned with?
• What foods should I eat? What should I avoid eating?

So, being the information hound that I am, I went looking for all the answers. Sadly, I came up short. Most of the fashionable pregnancy books were either too playful (not giving me enough practical advice) or too medical (making me more anxious and nervous).

The general feeling out there that I realized is that pregnancy is a struggle and that pregnant women gain tons of weight, wear over-sized shirts, feel uncomfortable and have NO energy.

Not me! I was determined to LOOK good and have TONS of energy during my pregnancy. I planned to be FREE of aches and pains, dress sexy and to lose weight with ease after I delivered my baby.

And I did it.

Many New Moms are Full of Regret
Most pregnant women use pregnancy as an excuse to eat the house. They let themselves go, indulge in their cravings, and stop exercising.

There’s no denying that when you have a big belly, feel nauseous and have aches and pains – the last thing you feel like doing is getting up off the couch or thinking about what you’re about to put in your mouth.

And that’s why most pregnant women gain more weight than they should, struggle to lose the excess pounds afterwards, and feel miserable.

How many times do you hear new moms complaining about the “last” 5 or 10 pounds from pregnancy that they just CAN’T get rid of?

And how many women do you know that have turned to using restrictive diets and strict exercising routines (all the weight-loss “tricks”) to get rid of those UNWANTED post-pregnancy pounds?

In fact, many women spend the rest of their lives believing they'll never get their “pre-pregnancy” body back– they don’t feel sexy or attractive anymore

Could've, should've, would've – don’t ever let this happen to you. Don’t be full of regret.

You CAN make pregnancy a SUCCESS for both you and your baby – it’s not that hard (and it WILL set you up for afterwards!).

Pregnancy Books Are Generally About BABY
Pregnancy books will tell you to eat and additional 300 calories, and to exercise – but that’s just about all. I couldn't find anywhere exactly WHAT I could or should do in any detail.

Even though I was an “expert” in non-pregnancy fitness, I had TONS to learn about “pregnancy + fitness”. I remember when I was trying to find out HOW I could modify my exercise routines for my own pregnancy – what was safe to do and what was needed to AVOID.

Wow, you think it would be easy to find simple tips like - don’t lift over your head or lie on your back after the first trimester, it wasn’t! I knew how to work my abdominal muscles, but I didn’t know EXACTLY what I could or couldn’t do now that I was exercising for two.

And it wasn’t just exercise - I remember having questions about herbal teas and hair dye that I couldn’t find straight answers to.

Being a coach – I worked out that I would have to come up with my own pregnancy program to continue to being HEALTHY and SEXY whilst being a pregnant mama!

Other pregnant women would talk to me after I had my baby and only then that I realized – a LOT of them were asking all the questions that I had already the ANSWERS to.
