eCompetition is designed to allow you to set up a competition (or any other sort of form) that ensures the visitor fills out all fields and also ensures that their email address is correct.
If you are looking to accumulate email addresses for marketing purposes, then the last thing you want is tons of bogus email addresses. This form dumps the data to the database, and automatically marks the validation field with an "X" icon which then updates to a tick/check icon when the user validates their email address upon receiving the validation email with their unique validation url.
