I had a chronic case of snoring.

Snoring Facts
- Snoring arises by a blocked air passage, in that way inhibiting easy and usual breathing while sleeping.
- Throat muscles stay wide open when the body is awake, but at the onset of sleep they relax inwards. Snoring occurs when these muscles collapse (i.e. become too lax), creating a blockage at the airway.
- Snoring can be the result of a nasal blockage, when the mouth has to be used to inhale. If the mouth is open, the tongue is forced back and pushes the uvula against the back of the throat.
- The more the throat is blocked by the muscles, the louder the snoring.
- Snoring can be passed through the family.
- Overweight middle-aged (or older) men and overweight menopausal women may develop a snore.
