I had a terrible snoring problem.
In my youth it was a problem going on trips with friends - my snoring would keep them awake all night.

- Snoring occurs when the air passage is hindered, thus inhibiting usual and easy breathing while asleep.
- The sound of snoring varies with the degree of obstruction.
- Breathing through the mouth (as a result of a nasal blockage) can cause snoring. The uvula can block the back of the throat if the tongue pushes it back when the mouth is open.
- Throat muscles stay wide open when the body is awake, but at the onset of sleep they relax inwards. Snoring results from the muscles relaxing too much and blocking the throat.
