I had a chronic case of snoring.

Snoring Facts

  • Snoring arises by a blocked air passage, in that way inhibiting easy and usual breathing while sleeping.


  • When you are awake, your throat muscles stay open, but when you sleep the muscles relax and sag inwards Snoring results from the muscles relaxing too much and blocking the throat.


  • Snoring can be caused by a nasal blockage (i.e. when somebody has a cold) and as the personal is force to breathe through their mouth they can begin to snore. The tongue is pushed back when the mouth is open, and makes the uvula to press against the throat.


  • The more the throat is blocked by the muscles, the louder the snoring.


  • Snoring is often hereditary.

  • People who gain significant amounts of weight may begin snoring, especially those middle-aged or older.
