- Snoring develops in situations where the air passage is blocked, thereby inhibiting normal breathing while sleeping.
- Snoring becomes louder as the muscles relax more.
- When you are awake, your throat muscles stay open, but when you sleep the muscles relax and sag inwards Snoring occurs when these muscles collapse (i.e. become too lax), creating a blockage at the airway.
- Snoring can be caused by a nasal blockage (i.e. when somebody has a cold) and as the personal is force to breathe through their mouth they can begin to snore. The tongue is pushed back when the mouth is open, and makes the uvula to press against the throat.
