I snored severely.

Snoring Facts

  • Snoring takes place when the air passage is impeded, therefore inhibiting simple and normal breathing during sleep.


  • Nasal blockages can cause snoring because the person has to breathe through their mouth. If the mouth is open, the tongue is forced back and pushes the uvula against the back of the throat.


  • The muscles in the throat are kept open while a person is awake, but when they are asleep they relax and close up. When they relax more than necessary the airway can become blocked and snoring will result.


  • Snoring becomes louder as the muscles relax more.
