  • Snoring arises when the air passage is blocked, thereby inhibiting easy and normal breathing during sleep.


  • Breathing through the mouth (as a result of a nasal blockage) can cause snoring. In an open-mouth position the tongue is pushed back causing the uvula to press against the back of the throat.
